The team at Phone Hire has been wondering whether we’re about to see Apple release new colors for the iPhone 14. It was around this time last year (08 March – also Int’l Women’s Day) that it announced the new green colors.
There are rumors that there will be an iPhone 14 yellow color release. Whilst this is not yet confirmed, it wouldn’t be the first time Apple has released a yellow iPhone device, the iPhone 11 in 2019 and the iPhone XR in 2018.
If any of the Coldplay team are reading this (we’re sure they probably are), then it could be a good time to team up with Apple and re-release your Yellow classic hit..!
It is interesting that Apple announces new colors during a product cycle (iPhone 15 will be out in September 2023), but it is a clever way of boosting sales in the build-up to the new iPhone 15 release.
Since Apple did away with the ‘Mini’ iPhone last year, which we feel didn’t really work/take off, releasing a new color for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus will strengthen the core products in its current range. However, a couple of members of the Phone Hire team feel a yellow iPhone 14 release may clash with the iPhone 14 gold version so we eagerly await to see which colors Apple releases.
The current iPhone 14 range of devices comes in midnight (black), blue, starlight, and red. Unlike the iPhone 14 Pro models, the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus phones have a notch that hosts the True Depth camera, but it should be noted that the ProMotion display technology is only available in the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max versions.
Back to the iPhone 14 and some additional things to note. Apple is using the same A15 chip that is in the current iPhone 13 Pro models which is excellent, as this offers a 6-core CPU, a 5-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine.
Moreover, for camera lovers, there is an updated 12MP Wide camera that features a much larger sensor as well as an ƒ/1.5 aperture and larger 1.9 µm pixels for improved performance in low light. Apple has also added an updated True Depth camera which significantly improves low-light images in the iPhone 14.
For our creative clients who film via the iPhone, the iPhone 14 is much improved, the Cinematic mode is now available in 4K at 30 fps and 4K at 24 fps.
Finally, how’s the battery life we hear you ask. It’s very good and for those interested in hiring the iPhone 14, the battery life has improved and lasts an hour longer than the previous iPhone 13, the iPhone 14 can last up to 20 hours when watching video content which our team think is pretty decent.
